Post by: Col on October 04, 2005, 03:32:06 PM
I understand that if you decat there is a sensors that needs removing just wondering were it is and is it hard to find? Is it attached to the cat, and what do you do with it?

Any help please :)

I assume your talking about the oxygen sensor in the cat?? (I think thats what it is anyway...) I don\'t have any pictures but its on the drivers side of the exhaust and fits onto the cat (around the centre) with two 10mm bolts. If you stick your head under level with the back of the door (Ish) you should see it. Hope thats right, I haven\'t looked for a while!!
There is also a sensor that goes onto the down pipe right near the turbo\'s, don\'t know what thats for, but don\'t think its the one you mean anyway.

As for removing the cat sensor from the car, I don\'t know, I haven\'t got that far yet!

I think some De-cat pipe come with the mount for this sensor to be fixed back on, maybe wrong.  :xconfused
Either that or just dont fix it back on and tie it up out of the way somehow.
Havent looked under mine to see whats been done with it

Its all cool spoke to Ross,

it is the heat sensor held on with 2 10mm bolts, that you just remove and cable tie up to the car. It stops the car thinking it is over heating, and a rubber tube that you disconnet and block up at the car end.

Thanks for the help :yes
