Title: gear change buzzer
Post by: Madden on October 03, 2005, 06:10:08 PM
Hello

Is there a buzzer that goes off on the fds when you get to around 7500rpm basically telling you to change gear ?

Only because the buzzer on mine goes off at 9000rpm and im trying to see if my rev counter has had it

Cheers Jamie

Yeah the buzzer on the Jap import should come in at 7000rpm, think its bit later on the UK spec. I\'m sure the rev limiter on mine stops me going over 8000rpm so maybe your rev counter has had it or is needing calibrated (if thats possible).
When does the 2nd turbo kick in, you should easily tell when it comes in as the acceleration drops momentarily then kicks again and should happen at 4500rpm?

Thanks for that mate.   Yea the second turbo seems to come in at 6000rpm so i think its had it.  I have speant weeks trying to get the turbos working properly and there was nothing wrong with them in the first place!!! :reallymad  :reallymad  :reallymad

Nightmare. At least the rev counter should be a relatively easy fix and a lot cheaper than broken turbos. Good luck with it.

Went out last night to test it took it to the beep that is at 9000rpm and had to pull over as the water started ****ing out from some where and i had a cloud of smoke behind me nice.  Trying to fix it now hopfully havent damaged anything and its just a split hose or something

Has anyone got a spare set of clocks form anycar that i can use the rev counter to test mine?
