Title: Wiper relay??
Post by: R32 Nik on October 03, 2005, 01:28:28 PM
Hi all,
Sarah\'s TII\'s wipers have developed a problem.
The intermittent wipers don\'t work and when she turns the wipers off they just stay where they are instead of returning to the bottom of the screen.

Is this likely to be the wiper relay? If so, does anyone know where it is and how I dinstinguish it from the rest of the relays?

Thanks in advance

Nik

Sorry, Sarah replied whilst I was putting it all back together.

It was the switch gear. Apparently the relay etc is all micro jobbies inside the switch gear.

Luckily Sarah has the EGI sitting out in the driveway, just changed it over with the one from that and away we go :):)

By coincidence, my Gen 2 EGI has just developed exactly the same problem :reallymad (this is supposedly quite a common problem), having just passed it\'s MOT.
I have a CD that says it can be fixed by taking out the switch assembly and unsoldering the faulty relay and replacing it.
However, the CD was for a U.S. model and it states a replacement relay (part no. G6C-2114-US-DC12 made by Omron Electronics ) can be obtained from //www.digikey.com under part no. Z950-ND.
As this is a US site, does anyone know if I can source this in the UK?
Please help, would like to be able to drive the old girl this winter!
