Title: Thermostat
Post by: nikp on September 30, 2005, 01:32:56 PM
I am about to replace my thermostat in my rex. So, there was me reading the doc to see how to do it (Simple!) there is a line that says \'make sure the jiggle pin is at the top\'. While i have easily identified this part on the thermostat, i have never heard of this thing before! Soooo.....

Does anyone know what this jiggle pin is, and if so, what does it do!!?  :xconfused

Hi Nik,

Some stats have a loose pin to one side of the center which would act as a vent.

Hope this helps

the loose pin jiggles about in the hole to keep it clear and free from scale ... hence the name jiggle pin :)
