Post by: Clarky on September 28, 2005, 10:14:46 AM
Ive fitted my new apexi fc commander ready for future mods, run idle setup all ok, i have an aftermarket exhaust and backbox, still have cat fitted,
Is there a definitive answer to, do i need to get it mapped? before i redline it again.

If I remember right the base map leans out at high rpm, so might be best to get it mapped especially as you have mods already. Watch for the Knock warning on WOT...

Bit of a thread hi-jack here: does anyone have the electronic forms of the manuals for the apexi. The link in this forum no longer works! And I have just ordered an Apexi from Japan: hence japanese instruction manuals!

I thought the Apexi on base map ran leaner at tickover than the stock ECU and richer at high rpm, hence the whole point of it.

I used to have the old design, I\'ve heard they now come with 2 different base maps for the level of mods you have?

Should be fine .85 bar setting.  I used to get horrendous knock readings and the cat light flashing all the time, but only on the over-run, so it\'s quite common to turn knock warning off!
