Title: Have I got a bargain...?
Post by: ScuttleRX on September 28, 2005, 07:25:35 AM
Just picked up this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8002082616&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)  up off ebay, £195 delivered, considering what they\'d be seperately thought that was quite good.

Now before I brought it I kept finding good reports and opinions regarding injector placement etc, now i\'ve brought it im finding as many negative ones

What the general concenus regarding additonal injectors, ive heard that you get better fuel atomisation due to running smaller injectors rather than large secondaries...but that the aic\'s can be a little in-precise (although I also heard you can get around this by getting the whole lot close then using the pfc controlled injectors for the fine tuning).

Any other pro\'s and con\'s...

Ah one more thing, ive got a couple of 850cc injectors in the shed, as my fuel needs are not demanding yet reckon its best I use one of them? or clean up the 550\'s provided and stick with them, or maybe just one of them...no sense in going overboard I suppose as they can always be added later

Cheers!

(ps sorry for so many questions so early in the morning :D)

Hi

I have that exact setup on my FD (see pic) and works like a charm. I have got a set of 850cc injectors as the additionals.

The controller is a breeze to use. You just set the boost & RPM levels and once both criteria are reached your additional injectors come "online".  In fact when i went to the RR day at Noble Motorsport, looking at the graph afterwards, you could see a noticable power spike (if thats the correct term to use) when the additionals kicked in!!!

ahh thats nice to hear! I knew there was at least a couple of people on hear running this set-up, glad to hear it works well :)

Like I say the opinions I was reading on some of the yank forums (couldnt find much about it on UK ones) were very bi-polar, either luv it or hate it :)

I dont think i\'ll be getting the manuals with the rebic, dont suppose you have a set do you? The place im getting them from have said they will email installation instructions, just be handy if I know someone with a manual in case anything doesnt add up :)

Nope..... :(  Unfortunately i don\'t. It was all fitted when i bought the FD and Freddi kindly explained how it works.  But i do know that u can run them from the Apexi PFC, as when i had mine fitted and mapped, thats what Pip did.

Really? That would be good....will have to have a word with Pip, shame he lives so damn far away! :)

I did read one of the forums about doing that, but someone suggested there would be a small delay in the additional injectors due to the distance away from original...take it you have no trouble..?

IMO the system works fine and i\'ve never had any problems with the fueling at all.
