Went for a quick drive in my Rex yesterday after not using it for about a week.(92, pretty standard, HKS intake and big exhaust), only about 10 minutes around town so no caning it. Fluid levels all good. Stopped to let my othe rhalf out, thought I smelt burning plastic / rubber, then saw a small amount of smoke coming out from the driver\'s side of the bonnet. Shut the engine down (quickly!!), opened the bonnet carefully, and found the smoke coming from somewhere around the turbo pack, in the area where the solenoids join the lines going forward to the intake. Any idea what this could be? As you might imagine, I\'m now pretty nervous about driving it again  I couldn\'t see in detail wher ethe smoke came from, although I\'ll be taking a closer look today to see if there\'s any evidene.
Sounds like you have a small oil leak, most FD\'s seem to!
The smoke is the oil burning on the zorst. Have you looked underneath the car on a ramp, it may well be quite oily. The hard bit is trying to find where the leak is, turbo feed line maybe, OMP lines, rear engine oil seal is quite common too.
It isn\'t dangerous to drive if it\'s only a small drip.
