Title: The HOG is back.
Post by: Warthog on September 23, 2005, 10:46:37 PM
The RE:WORX crew worked there magic again today, with Chris stripping out my dead twins and fitting some that work now. Can\'t wait to see what we make at the rolling road day next saturday.
The trip home was interesting having driven around the industrial est many times clearing out the oil in the exhaust, I took it easy driving home on low boost until all signs of blue smoke had gone ( 35 miles ). Then it was play time , for the next 90 miles. High boost and see if the twins would play, both spooled up no problems and seem quite happy having a dose of 1.2 bar Hog Boost stuffed through them. :yes
The line lock Chris also fitted will come in useful at the Pod on the 9th when I put them to the real test of trying to beat the 12.62 1/4 time set by SDMINUS at RS11.
Anyway thanks again to the lads for all there help in sorting out a set of working twins prior to my arrival and putting up with an old git around the workshop. :eek  :cheers

ASP-- LINE LOCK is a switching system that is fitted into your brake fluid master bottle, whereby with the use of a Momentary switch ( push down and hold red button in the cab ) only the front brakes lock up, the rear brakes are not on. It allows you to do burn-outs to heat up your tyres prior to a run on the 1/4 mile. As soon as you lift your finger off the red button all brakes are off, thats why you see the cars on the strip do a burn out and then run forward doing a little wiggle. Hope that explains it mate. If you are at any meets find me and I will show you what it looks like fitted. HTH. :burnout

Correct, electric switch in cab, hold the red button down with your finger as soon as you let go brakes release. It\'s so you can\'t turn and lock your brakes on. Like a dead mans switch, you have to hold it down. Give Geff a ring at RE:WORX for more details etc. :burnout  :flamed

Plumbing into the brake master cylinder and electrical connection to the unit and the switch. Don\'t ask me how Chris did it as I had gone to the cafe to buy us all lunch, when I came back it was done. The only thing I saw him do was bleed the brakes and I\'m sure you know how to do that bit. :rollin
On a more serious note  :cheers I will take some pics in the morning and post on here.

As promised some pics. Pic 1 shows the connections into the master reservoir and under the alarm the solenoid. There is also a braded pipe connection coming from the bottom of the left hand side brake pipes.
