Title: 2nd Gen Classic Car Insurance
Post by: Thud on September 21, 2005, 08:53:50 PM
It\'s that time of year again....

so - who gives you the best deal? I have had a look through the "Insuring your rotary" forum but most of those threads are for guys insuring FDs which I guess are group 20.

I am looking to better my £390 renewal quote from Elephant. I have tried AON on a classic policy and they quoted £500 - could be something to do with the fact I made them cough up £6k when I stacked my FD two years ago! Footman James are £330 on a 4500 mile limit so at least I am making some progress.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Stuart

Been using these peeps (http://www.norton-ib.co.uk/) .. Highly recommended and cheap quotes.

These are policies I had previously with them...
Stock EGI was £179. full comp with breakdown cover.. 5K miles a year/£1200 car value.
 Stock T2 was £217. same as above..^

Have you tried Adrian Flux? They do a classic car policy. Sarah has hers with them.

Here\'s the verdict :

Footman James £330
Adrian Flux £500
Aon £552
Sureterm would not insure me!
Norton ended the quote when they heard I had one for £330 from Footman

In the end though I have stayed with Elephant - when I told them I was not renewing and going with Footman they dropped the quote to £350 so for the sake of 20 quid I will stay with Elephant and keep it on regular insurance with no claims etc.

Aren\'t insurance quotes a black art...
