Title: Hesitation at 5k
Post by: craigr on September 20, 2005, 05:48:33 PM
Hi all,

Ever since I had my PFC fitted, I have had an inconsistent, but fairly regular hesitation at 5K RPM. I cannot replicate it 100% of the time (at least I haven\'t sussed out a guaranteed pattern), but it seems to only do it when smoothly putting power down through the rev range - if I go WOT I don\'t notice it.

I can only really describe it as a hesitation - almost as if the brakes are being gently feathered as it goes through the 5K mark, then smooth from about 5500 on to the red line.

I\'ve not checked vacuum hoses thoroughly. I had plugs done just prior to having the PFC fitted (and belts, fluids, filters). Not 100% certain that fuel filter was done - but was told that was the case.

Any ideas on what to check, or how to test more scientifically ?

Cheers, Craig

Sounds like injector transition causing a hesitation.

You\'ll need check with an a/f meter to confirm it, but I suspect it\'s just going through a lean spot.

Stock map?

Nope, mapped by Geff and RR\'d at the same time.

I\'m due a visit to him anyway, so I will get him to have a look

I had a suspicion it was!

One of us will have a play with it :)

Mine has done this ever since I installed a PFC.

Been running the \'basemod\' map for years, hoping a mapping session with Carl will fix this minor \'glitch\'.

Cheers,

Richard
