Hi miss RX7, and welcome to a brilliant club, i may know of one quite close to your area, with a rebuilt engine,if it\'s still for sale i will see if it\'s sold or not and let you know,

Not meaning to be a downer, but to be honest I\'m surprised you got the quotes you did. Are they with limited mileage? I think quite a few <25 year olds are struggling to get quotes at all :(

Have you considered going for a 2nd gen (FC) rx7 first, the insurance is cheaper and the learning curve is a bit friendlier with the winter fast approaching.
Have you driven an Rx7 yet? (Might be preaching to the chior here)

 And welcome to MRC :wave

Welcome to MRC!

I\'m 21, got insured on my FD no problem, Elephant.co.uk and Bell.co.uk were the best for me, if you go for the 10month thing, fully comp should be about £1000, well that what I\'m paying. Limited miles, I have a few mods though, the street port isn\'t listed  :yes

Good luck finding a good one, have you thought about buying one from the docks and then getting a rebuild? £4000 is the average price + rebuild and then you are sorted.

Kieron  :cheers

Hello and welcome to the club.  :wave
Sounds like you\'ve got some good quotes there. Like some of the other guys have said, dont be afraid to ask any questions or for any advise, no such thing as a silly question on here.
Take your time trying to find the right car for you as there\'s are plenty of bad ones around now, looking for one with a rebuild is a good idea. Get used to driving it about, as they can be a big handfull in the wet but also loads of fun when things are good  :D
Make sure you post up some good pictures once you\'ve found your dream machine :)
Good luck and happy hunting

Adam

P.S. If you fancy meeting some of the guys off here and asking as many questions as you like, there\'s an RR day at ReWorks in Porstmouth on the 1st.

Hello MissRX7,

I bought my 3rd gen RX when i was 22 and i managed to get it insured for £1,500 fully comp but i think i had more NCB than you. I got mine insured with Adrian Flux, but i have also used in the past Tesco\'s, Belldirect (but they don\'t insure any kind of mods) and now with A-Plan which i think are great (and cheapest to date)!!

If you up your excess it should lower your premium. My current excess is at £500. Hope you manage to get a good quote.

Happy car hunting!!

Post some pics when you can, love to see it. Are you going to the rolling road day on the 1st Oct at RE:WORX in Portsmouth. Ideal time to meet and greet a few of the FD clan. :eek If not then the 9th Oct at Santapod for the Jap meet. You can get a pass from Lisa on here to park on the stand, in fact just do both. :bandit

Post by: Christopher on September 20, 2005, 02:59:52 PM
The import RX-7\'s you only pay tax for a 1.3 but uk ones you get cheaper insurance :) Id rather have the cheap insurance though  :D

Post by: dre on September 20, 2005, 03:06:48 PM
Miss RX7 - Your secret is safe with me. I used Bell a couple of years ago but only had a handfull of mods like you. But as the mods increased i thought i\'d better protect my investment by insuring it properly. That is a good quote though. How old is the bf?? Are you the first named driver or is he??
Title: Newbie
Post by: MissRX7 on September 20, 2005, 03:22:45 PM
Lol im the named driver and he is 22 not that im going to let him drive it anyway he has a gtr to play with  :p  but he has been driving for 5 years i was really suprised it took it down so much  :rollin
if your insured fully comp does that mean you can drive any car third party or is that only over 25s?  :xconfused
Title: Newbie

"if your insured fully comp does that mean you can drive any car third party or is that only over 25s?"

Not sure on the age part but to drive another car third party using your insurance I beleive that the \'other\' car must be insured by someone.

I think your policy needs to state that you can drive other vehicles. I ran into this a few years back and wasn\'t allowed to on my fully comp insurance.

Hi and welcome BTW :)
