Title: 1300cc injector warning
Post by: bnaellis on September 13, 2005, 09:48:09 AM
Just to advise you lot do not waste your time buying 1300cc injectors unless you want a blown engine.
I tuned my car last year with them on and the engine let go for no apparent reason. I decided to go with bigger injectors in the end so had the 1300cc spare. I am building an engine now and and was going to fit them to this car, they only have a at the most 300 miles use but thought I would send it top wgt autos to be clean and flow tested as a precaution. Pip calls me and advises that he has had 3 engines blow because of these injectors. He has tested mine and saw the results he expected to see, (when he increases pressure 3.5 to 4 bar the injectors completely stop injecting). This apparently is normal for these injectors. I would of tuned this car next week and had no idea why it would of popped just like last time. Just a warning for those of you considering this option ? (their crap).
Either go 850 cc all round or get complete 1600cc secondary kit.

Are you talking about the 1300\'s as made 1300\'s by the factory, or the 850\'s that are bored to 1300.
Least Pip saved you from an impending dooooommm.

850s taken to 1300 - the RC Developments ones I think, as I\'m sure we had some off Pip ages ago before we started using other stuff.

Depensd on the setup that you have. 850\'s and 1600\'s is for a serious setup.

I got told that the 1600\'s wouldn\'t fit round the rats nest in the twin turbo setup, so had to go for the 1300\'s. I\'ve not pushed them past 80% duty and they had been on a car from pips that had done over 20k miles with no faults. Pip fitted them !

But i will upgrade them to 1600\'s if (when) i go to a big single !

Maybe I\'m not understanding this post properly, but I\'ve been running 1300s without any problems for a while now.  Running uprated fuel pump and pressure regulator and it\'s been tuned and mapped twice without issue, once with twins and then again with a single...
