Do not have one yet, fitting in November but I am going with the apexi PFC mainly because it does everything.

But the PFC does NOT control boost that well, thus why most bolt on a boost controller.

The favs. are Profec B, Blitz and Trubosmart.

Running a profec-B.  Haven\'t experienced any others but it controls boost, has a twirly knob and a couple of buttons for hi/lo boost.  Erm, that\'s about it, does the job...

Sorry to hi-jack but....

Is it essential to get a boost controller (ie does it do any harm if you dont!?). Do the 3 mentioned ones fit in a spare DIN slot & are they easy to wire up or is it a professional job?

sorry, thank you, sorry , thanks

Basically no, it does`nt harm your car, all a boost controller does is more efficiently, BUT more importantly is precisely control boost (to your required level).
You can have two settings, a High and Low boost pressure and some have an overtaking boost mode which gives a higher than normal boost for a set amount of seconds.
Here are some pics of the units, they are usually little display which you mount somewhere on or around the dash.
I fitted my last one (not a rex) and found it straight forward enough, once I got an English manual !!

Ah thanks for that - do like the look of the HKS one :)

Thinking i\'ll have to get one - use the car as a daily so could half the boost for the run of the mill driving & dodgy weather!

Cheers again  :wave

The Blitz and Turbosmart give you up to 4 boooooost settings dependant on which model you buy. AFAIK the super dooper Turbosmart can bring yer boooost in stages [like .5 in 1st gear, .7in 2nd, .8 in 3rd ect. ect.] to help with those wheel spin moments :cheers

I don`t know much about the others, but I used to have a Blitz Dual SBC Boost controller in my Nissan and it too had 4 stages which you could set different boost levels. It was very easy to install and set up.

Though before I buy one of those, I think I should get my finger out and get an Apexi Power FC and Commander and eliminate that 112 limit
