I just wonder how much money everyone has been spending on their fc??it seems that my FC is in the price range of a FD already??n i still have power-FC to buy etc........
i have spent a 1100 quid so far, including delivery and purchase of the vehicle - edit that includes all the bits needed eg, plugs, oil, wings, mirrors, lights, wiper arms, and welding.
I can see this turnin expensive! i still have to pay for MOT and a respray, some rims , exhaust....... etc! i cant run an FD just yet, i havent been long out of uni and this car is only meant as cheap fun!
£1000 for the car
£100 for a water pump
£250 on welding
£70 on a BOV
£40 on an FCD
£270 on an exhaust
Not bad all things considered.
I dare not think about!!!! ALOT!!
you better buy T2REW a LARGE calculator!!
As for me, i try no to count but including the car about 2.5 - 3k but its still on the increase, especially with the money Jay charges for his \'hand me downs\'....
im getting to the point of not adding it up any more because its too scary to think of. im still not anywhere near you though ay grizzly lol.
i actually paid about 3300 for the car in the first place. thats about £1 for every mile i did before it went pop. then its been about £14 per day while its been off the road. so its not that bad really.
Some one once told me if you have to ask you can\'t afford it, This is very True with Tuned RX7\'ns.
And if you want some advice don\'t do my Trick, Build a realy tuned Seven and run a Mildly Tuned one as well as an every day Runner.
Chris
i dont think they have to be tuned to qualify m8 :D :D :D
Is it True that the T2 is an Entry level Rx7?? Keep me away from FD\'s!!
:rollin :rollin :rollin its ok as long as they keep putting those 0% credit cards throught the door.
as you guys know there isnt much difference betweem the two cars, (i have built both now)
Wecant do things just cos its an older Tii, at the end of the day a Front mount or a big single for a TII isnt any cheaper than one for an FD. Boost controllers and air filters etc are all pretty universal so again no saving there. Some things are actually cheaper for an FD, like exhaust parts, Body kits and ecu\'s because of the large numbers of FD\'s about. So i guess we are paying to be unique.....
its always cheaper to be a sheep and follow the majority ... but then if we did that who would drive an RX7 ?!
What a scary question!!!!
Reckon about 5 - 5.5K including the price of the car!
Well I think Grinders beaten us all, think He\'s only spent about £1300 total including all his toys and both cars!
my car and all bit cost me nearly 6k now.........should i continue spending money??cos i know i will never get the money back
well its std rule of tuning, usaly you add up what its cost you then half it and you have basicly what its worth. Sounds negative but who is going to pay (for example) 15k for a T2 no matter how nice it is? look at Gman\'s he wanted to get back what he payed but in the end had to strip it? Its back to the old "Why spend money if your not going to get it back?"
I don\'t know about anyone else but i have come to think that no matter what i do to my car it will never be worth more than 3-4k so i tune it with that in mind. I will only use spare cash (that i can afford to blow), i do all the work myself and look at it as a Hobbie. So you will never see me blowing 4k on an engine rebuild when i can do it myself for £400
Belive it or not when i started off i bought a T2 becouse i was intrested in how the Rotary engine worked and it was in that price bracket where i could bin it if i couldn\'t rebuild the engine myself. After i rebuilt it i became attached to it and got bitten by the Bug.
Between the pair, in the region of 12g\'s at the last count. I was advised when i got the first rx... set a cash limit and don\'t go over it. They are a black hole for more than just loose change.
John
:) Don\'t i know it
I havn\'t evan spent anything on the Infini IV yet...well in the process of.

all those after that just arnt trying hard enough.
if i painted it i recon it might be worth 4/5 grand. its just been one thing after another. spiraling out of control. what i have ended up with is a car that no one else has, its pretty quick and goes round corners. i get looks from people as i go by and i can proudly say its something i knocked up in a council garage in essex with a selection of halfords spanners. :rollin .
i would have said its not worth it but now it is working properly and it looks the best it has ever looked i can say its been worth every penny. :)
And i was expecting a sarcastic comment...
John
lol. there\'s nothing funny about spending money
Samfc3s,
what more do you need to do your car?, what has been done so far?, if it only needs a few hundred quid spending on it before it reaches a stage that you can call it finished, then it may be worth spending the money, so that at least you have car that is done and worth the most money you will be able get for it. And at least you can enjoy while you own it.

QuoteWhere does Grinder come? ;) I don\'t know how he does it. He is my Idle!!:god LOL
Antincuk....
I still need a power FC to get it map proper ly as is got a panspeed ECU at the moment and then i will prob go for a V mount then i think is all done but that also mean another 2k on top.....
So that may move me into second place...hahaa ^^
so far including the car purchase price mine is coming in at about £6800! (which is more than I was expecting!!!)
errrrr ooohhhh let me think ...
i reckon that i have spent under 1K to be honest ... ahhh no maybe a little more
prob somewhere in the region of 1100 - the most expensive part bought for the car has been a BOV at just a touch under £65
so work it from there :D :D :D
and if push came to shove i reckon i could sell the coupe and the cab and break even :D
