Hi all
On the FD, while replacing a water pipe ( in another thread) on top of the engine, I disconnected one of the injectors so I could see what I was doing. When I put the intake manifold back on and went for a drive, the car would cough and splutter as soon as I reached 0 or a tiny bit of boost on the boost gauge.
Went back home, pulled off the manifold, and found the injector plug off. I plugged it back on and re-assembled, but without resetting the ECU, I went for a drive, only to find the car still the same!!.
So I took off the manifold AGAIN, and this time disconnected the battery. I could not see anything amiss, though I did unplug and reconnect that injector.
This time the car was nack to normal after re-assembly.
Does the ECU know if an injector is not connected? Would it have shown a fault code if I had pulled the codes?
I really doubt that a stock ECU would, but something like the higher end Motec, Pectel and Bosch ECU\'s might notice it.
OE ECU\'s tend to have some form of basic learning ability. But they aren\'t that good.

It would probably have picked up something amiss on the AFR probe and gone into one of its limp home modes.
Ah, that makes sense.
