Title: 3rd gen electric aerial
Post by: johnf on August 13, 2003, 03:35:59 PM
Help plz...........

My aerial\'s stuck up. I can hear the motor whirring away but it doesn\'t seem able to link to the telescopics. Won\'t push down by hand and it\'s a bit risky leaving it up all the time

Has anyone had this problem.

How do I get to the motor and is it easy access?

I have had a similar problem on another car - there is a toothed bit of plastic that pushes the aerial up and down, passing between a toothed cog and a roller.  This coils in the base of the aerial.  You\'ll probably find the toothed plastic has broken... The easiest way to solve it is to phone up tim@rx motors  and say "oi matey, give us an aerial..."

yeah mine went as well so chucked complete ariel in, easy to get to I think one nut holding it in, not inc the large nut on exterior. Just remove plastic side in boot and all is bearing.
