Hi Ricco,

I\'ve got a UK FD and I\'ve removed my pre-cat and replaced it with a HKS downpipe. I\'ve also replaced the centre cat with a Bonez sports cat and have had no problem with emissions for the MOT. HTH.

Hi Ricco,

I\'ve got a UK \'95 FD. I too had removed the pre-cat (swapped for a HKS downpipe). I\'ve kept the standard main Cat on & have never had a problem with emissons at the MOT.  I\'ve also bought a new Racing Beat Cat-Back exhaust but haven\'t got round to fitting it yet! I\'ve been informed by Rotechnics that as long as you leave the standard main Cat in place or replace it with a sports Cat of some kind, you can change the down pipe & Cat-Back with no worries over the emissons.

Ah thanks for the answers!

Unfortunately I can\'t get by on my main cat alone cause of the high mileage that it has on it.

Sports cat is the way forward!  Matt, what does it sound like with just the sports cat in & does it pass mot easy or boarderline?
(I just have a slightly scilenced stainless back box at the moment).

getting expensive and not sure if these include vat (they dont include the cost of fitting either!!)

Downpipe 2nd hand £150, Sports cat £400, Full Remap £300  :D

Appreciate (sp) the info guys  :wave

Ricco,

I\'m currently running a Blitz Nur Spec R cat back, so with that the sports cat and the HKS downpipe it\'s pretty damn loud! It makes a lovely deep noise, but I doubt the rest of the neighbourhood agrees! Having said that, before I fitted the Nur Spec I had a dual tip Racing Beat cat back with the HKS downpipe and sports cat and the reason I changed was because I thought it a was a bit too quiet! So, the noise levels are mostly down to what rear silencer you put on. From what I can tell, a lot of the Japanese rear boxes are straight through systems, which means lots of noise. If this concerns you, try to find a silencer that is baffled, like the Racing Beat.

Regarding the emissions, I\'ve had mine tested twice and have not had a problem. To be honest, I don\'t know how marginal it is though.

Nice one, thanks for the info.  :yes

Im gonna go up to WGT on the 15th just to get a few sensors fixed.  Will get him to quote me for the necessary.  Dont want it too oud as I have bad neighbours     So might have to get another back box as mine is not doing a fat lot!
