I wasnt too confident at getting my insurance done for my new RX8. The reason being for the past few years I have been insured as a 2nd driver. As a result I have absolutely no NCB at all. Only thing I had going for me was that i am 26. Tried loads of insurance guys, all the usual big names including Adrian Flux all quotes were in the region of (pounds)1300. I did an online quote with admiral and got a great quote at (pounds)816, with a voluntary excess of 250. I called them up regarding taking up the policy and the staff were so helpful to the extent he told me what to do to reduce it further to a cool 716. FYI i took the NCB accelerator scheme, pay for 10mths insurance to gain 1 yr NCB at the end of the 10mths, cover was fully comp on my own ar with 3rd party on all other cars and courtesy car. So for anyone out there with problems getting a decient quote try admiral. One very satisfied customer here :)
Yep Admiral are pretty good with quotes, insured the wifes car last year with them and they were the cheapest by far. Went too insure with them again this year and told them we had aftermarket wheels and exhaust fitted, and they said this would not increase the renewal quote. Yippee I thought what a result, but after further chats with them they said if the wheels were damaged/stolen they would only replace them with standard alloy wheels (eg Honda), also the same with the exhaust.
So did abit of calling around and got the same price from insurance4u, but they would replace any aftermarket parts with like for like products. So if the wheels are stolen/damaged they will replace them with 5Zigen\'s. Check if you have any aftermarket parts fitted before you sign on the dotted line. What\'s the point of insuring your performance parts if they won\'t replace them, not trying to put you off Admiral. But thought it was worth mentioning...best regards Leigh.
They just quoted me £771, I currently pay £254. Think I\'ll stay where I am.
