Title: Changing Odometer into miles from km?
Post by: Welsh Dan on August 12, 2003, 01:14:29 PM
Hi.
I\'m picking the car up next week and its booked in to get the speedo converted and derestricted. However, as the odometer reads around 77000km, is there any way (legally) that I can get the odometer converted so it reads 48000m instead (or whatever the correct figure is). I know some places won\'t do it because technically its clocking, but as i\'m having it converted do you lot have any suggestions?

Thanks

Dan

Dan, sorry for the delay.

It comes down to the people coverting from KMH to MPH. So long as they have all the documentation in front of them and they know what they are doing they shouldnt have a problem and should be able to convert without a problem.

Clocking would only be an issue if altered the milage to something other than the correct conversion.

Just make sure they know what they are doing as the rx-7 speedo pulses are different to just about anything coming in from jap!!
