Just wondered if anyone was using an adjustable external wastegate, the type with a bolt in the top that screws down to compress the spring to increase the boost,
Anyone heard of any problems with them? I think most are none adjustable unless you change the spring...... which is better???
I think you may be better airing on the side of caution and fitting a wastegate with a fairly light spring pressure and adjusting with a boost controller. That way its failsafe if the controller stops working boost is mechanicly limited to the lighter spring pressure. Running a 6psi spring myself and using the controller to take it up to 10psi.

Looks a similar wastegate to the trial one i\'m using. Might be worth you checking out some of the comments on Ausrotary as regards the quality control at ssautochrome. Though i must admit there pricing and exchange rate make them very tempting.

Go for an adjustable one if you only want to make up to 18 psi , any higher then dont go for the adjustable ones as there will be an upper limit on how much boost you can make, where as the ones you can swap out the springs will be able to give you the option of making higher boost if you want it.
