This Spirit R looks HOT!!! Think it might be a type B or C. If that is genuine miles stated on the add then seems a very good buy!

No way will you get this into the country  No model report! AFAIK there are maybe 2 -3 over here sort of rare as rocking horse sh1te.
If Mazda Japan had any sence they should have re-introduced the FD over here when the Spirit R was 1st launched, FD\'s had recovered a rep by then.
Ahhhhhh, I want I want I want! :god
How tempting would it be to buy it, dismantle it, rebuild it and register it as an amateur built kit ! :evillaugh
How much is $54,500 NZ?
It\'s a type B and the price equates to £20000 plus shipping, import fees etc. Then whatever you want to do with it over here........

That said - I love my car! :D
That one\'s been up for sale for ages. There is also another one in Auz, a blue Type B, that the guy seems to have been selling for an age. Saw it Ebay last week - LINK (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-MAZDA-RX7-RX-7-SPIRIT-R-ONLY-TWO-IN-AUSTRALIA_W0QQitemZ4570046476QQcategoryZ18211QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Still not sold!

Well said!
Doesn\'t matter if it is standard or tarted, I still enjoy seeing them drive past! (The joys of living near Santa Pod! :D (for the Jap motors, but  for the Ch*v brigade!) )
Northants - Pod & Silverstone! AND A FLIPPIN SPIRIT!!!
Im not in envy at all :chat
the things dreams are made of :chat
If you haven\'t already seen the topic, RXHeaven seem to be close to getting a model report finalised for a 98 FD. He reckons when that is passed, it should then only be a matter of time until the later models are covered.

Damn! Potentially there goes the exclusivity!! :( :chat
I have figured out a an easier way to get a Spirit R into the country!! Just take a trip to Japan buy a Spirit R, then do a solo gumball rally lol. Get to France stick your own GB plates on there, get the ferry, get to dover as noraml, and you have yourself a Spirit R. May take a month or so driving it all that way and you\'ll probably be bankrupt with all the petrol but sounds well worth it to me. Have just been speaking to a friend of mine who has contacts in Japan, and they have a 2003 RX7 Spirit R Type A, 13,000 genuine miles and is the limited edition Grey colour and only £16,000

problem arises when the boys in blue stop you wondering why there isn\'t a tax disc in the window and there are no records of the car in the DVLA database! :eek I stil think the idea of taking the engine out, wheels, suspension and interior out and shipping as a kit car is the way to go! :bandit

Yeh good point! But it shouldn\'t be a problem if you use your own plates, and if they do check with the DVLA the car would be a RX7, and jus try and buy a Spirit R in the same colour as your own RX7. As far as tax goes, just cross your fingers and hope they don\'t look lol

Dam those DVLA tossers!!!

:rollin
Go on, get down there to DVLA headquarters.... :spank
I believe the technical term for that is "Ringing"! I still like the kit car idea (and it\'s legal, ok so the car will be on Q plates but who cares)
You will also be able to have a classic policy as it\'s a kit car! ;)
