Post by: AndyGen3 on August 29, 2005, 12:30:17 PM
1992 Fd3S type R.. (Exhaust and apexi air filters)

59k kms...

When i got her first she was boostin fine...  .7 on both turbos but recently shes only boostin to .3 on the fisrt turbo and .4 or thereabouts on the second... Got the diagnostics done and it showed up nothin... Got her Rollin roaded and she was only pusshin 220 at the fly and was leanin out massivly on the first turbo but perfect on the second... I notcied the vacum hoses were all turnin to dust so i replaced all that needed replacing and thought that wud fix it but no joy... Also yesterday when i started her she was a good bit smokey but i drover her up the road and it went... Got breakfast in my usual spot 5 mins up the road waited till she warmed up a good bit b4 i turned her off and and went in.. Started her again when i came out and no smoke! And no hassle startin! Am i ok or shud i worry?? Im gonna be sellin her soon enuf coz i bought another FD and i dont need any major hassle with her!! Cant afford it... Ive bought a Power Fc and im waitin on it to ship from Japan and as soon as its here im prob gonna make the trip across the pond and get pip to map her to 95 and superplus isnt available here anymore...

Any info wud b greatly appreciated...

Cheers
Andy

When you did the pipes and lines did you change the lines to the waste gate actuators (the ones with the pils)? ....... and check all the joints and lines on the "Y" pipe.

When pip maps it he will be able to do a bit of trouble shooting at the same time.

Like mine, the vacume hoses in the nest just go hard and crack, also the solonoids tend to give up the ghost as well, im changing all my vacume hoses along with relocating the solonoids for the twins. By doing that hopefully it should allow more air to travel around the UIM etc.

Sorted... She def wasnt runnin right from day1 as i replaced the rubber tube that goes from the turbo pipe to the bottom of the standard intercooler.... It had a hole in it that i cud fit 3 fingers in.... She\'s goin like stink now... Cant believe the difference...

And another question! Not goin over to pip to get it mapped as it will cost major â,¬â,¬â,¬ to get there and back plus im sellin the car so i dont wanna spend anymore money than i have to... So a local tuner to me is gonna do it.. But my question is anything special u have to do while mapping a rotary?? He\'s never done 1 b4 and i need as much info as possible to give to him altho he hasnt asked me to do this id rather have the info to give to him...

Cheers

Rotaries like to run rich - I suspect the AF ratio is probably higher on rotaries to any other car that he\'s done. I know nothing else though!
