I am looking at getting a boost controller now, i have used a GReddy profec B before on my single FD and was happy, i have also used a Profec A before which also worked well in my old TII.
There appear to be lots of others out there now like the HKS evc, Blitz, which ones do you guys use? and are you happy with it?
Its going on a TII with a big single.
I\'m using the profec B without any problems. Recommended by Pip at WGT so that was enough for me.
Kevin
i have just won a profec A on ebay, nobody replied to the thread before the end of the auction, i know the B is more predictable but the A worked on my TII well, and it was cheap.
The same here. It was so predictable....

does any one know if the profec has any kind of restrictor pea in the vacume lines, also, where can i get the little filters in the lines.
Hi Guys, how about Turbosmart Boost controllers, the Australians love em on Rotary\'s and they know a few things about Rotary\'s.
We can do real cheap mechanical controllers right through to the real trick electronic E-Boost controllers that have three stages of boost control that gives you different levels of boost through the gears and even a separate program to add water injection or at its own separate predetermined boost setting.
The E-Boost is probably the most sophisticated controller on the market with an amazing amount of different parameters, you can even vary how your wastegate opens if you want to get that involved

Clive, so what does this Turbo smart bc top spec unit cost. Tried your site but can\'t find it listed????? :cheers
So how would you use an e boost 2 to control water injection? would you replace existing solenoid with an e boost solenoid then be able to map the water injection to rpm and boost...?

You would keep your existing solenoid but with the E-Boost you have a separate electrical feed you can use, and then a program within the E-Boost that lets you tell an auxiliary at what boost you wish it to operate at, the other nice thing is these are easy to use unlike some of the other big names on the market .
In response to an earlier question a standard 40psi costs £340.46+vat add £20 for the latest version.
Thanks for the price Clive. As I read your info, you can set the boost you want for each gear to stop loss of traction is that correct??? :)
personally i would go for an apexi avcr everytime, always used them and there is so much you can do with them. Never tried one on an rx7 before but everything else has been spot on
i got a turbosmart well good i think, :)
Guys please dont get the Apexi AVC-R and the PFC boost controller kit mixed up, they are 2 different products.
One controls boost, the other thinks it controls boost.

So what can the avcr do? :cheers
Got a HKS evc fitted to mine atm but switched off, also have an avcr from previous car which I might swap it with as I\'m more familiar with it.
Main benefit is self learning, gear/rev related boost control (i.e to help feed boost in to limit wheel spin etc), some people have had probs with the avcr but mine\'s been ok :)

......LOL :)

Yep you got it :cool you can have real low boost for your first two gears and full boost for 3rd, :)
LOL! Nice turn of phrase Danny! And oh so true ;)

Have to agree with fish, the apexi add on is terrible at controlling the boost. I upgraded to a profec B and kept the pressure sensor (good for 2 bar). The profec is extremely good at controlling boost, plus its easy to keep a "in the wet" setting in the lo mode.
Shaun
:yes Yeah I run the Profec B, but was interested in the idea of being able to have progressive boost settings as you go through the gears up the strip. :yes
as the man has said, look at //www.apexi-usa.com and there is a description on there about it. you can pick them up from ebay now for about £250 all in, i got the last one from somewhere in hong kong, arrived in a week
