Any opinions on the max safe boost to run with a stock ECU ?
I\'m thinking about a de-cat pipe, how much extra boost could I expect?
Car is stock apart from air filter, bov and Veilside back box. Currently get 0.7 bar; is 0.8 or 0.85 safe?

i wldnt risk altering boost without a pfc..bit the bullet get pfc and u shd be okay for 0.9bar
As already said DON\'T, until you have fitted the Apexi + commander. You may get away with it and not have turbo spike but if you do it will fry your engine and thats a lot of money. It happened to me prior to fitting one and it did the sideseals. Re-build time, mucho mucho beer tokens. Always play safe with a rex. Just my view. HTH. :cool
pfc first then decat would be my advice :)
im no expert but i would rather have the bill for the apexi than the cost of a rebuild :yes

So is it that 0.8 bar wouldn\'t be safe, or is the problem a possible boost spike?
I fitted a heat shield yesterday and it\'s now boosting at 0.8 in 4th gear 5-7k rpm.
Does fitting a de-cat pipe always mean extra boost, or the same boost but quicker and possible spikes?
Oh and can you just plug in an Apexi FC and off you go safe upto 0.85 bar, or does it have to be mapped?

the apexi has a really safe base map...call re worx get the apexi get them to set up map and u shd be ok with decat and filters for 0.9 bar
