When I turn off the car and lock up, the air con/fans stay on, and the boost gauge and controller stays lit up, not as bright as usual in fact very dim but still lit up.
Noticed this the other day and forgot about it to be honest, but after leaving the fans on a couple of hours ago I have returned to a flat battery!
Anyone know how I can sort it?
Just a guess, but could your (assuming you have one) turbo timer be faulty? Might be worth disconnecting it just to prove or dis-prove that is at fault.
Cheers
Jon
maybe, but unfortunately turbo timer is intergrated into alarm system, so wouldnt know where to start...
Wouldnt be suprised if it was, alarm has been a bit of a PITA since I got it
call a priest and exorcise the car..the fans will stay on until ur temp drops to the set temp so check ur water levels mine stayed on for ages the other day as temp was 89c and my temps click off at 88c..are u sure the boost controller and gge arent faulty as they shd be on a switched live feed i wld have thought and shldnt be rcvg power with ign off
yeah they are faulty as well cos theyre not meant to be on, somethings messed up but not sure what....they have ignition live in common. Sorry when I said fans I meant the cabin fans.
I hate electrics, work of the devil, that preist is sounding good.
Might just try unplugging the gauge and controller (sorry again, meant gauge controller, apexi el series) and see if that is where the fault lies
Start looking for a broken wire or something touching earth when its not supposed to. Most of the ECU\'s work by grounding to activate the output, so if a bare wire is touching earth then you will be having something turning itself on.
Maybe. :)
ahh found the problem, cause : dodgy electrician aka me!
Had wired up my WI so I could flick it on with a switch aswell as having it boost activated (purpose being to be able to give it a quick blast before a run to drop the temps), evidently I didnt do it very well, as soon as I unplugged it all the things that were on switched off!
cheers for help and suggestions guys :)
I think you should still get a priest in... just to be on the safe side.
