Title: FD Stock ECU, does it re-learn?
Post by: paultakata on August 16, 2005, 10:07:02 PM
As the title, does the stock ECU have to re-learn settings if disconnected from the battery for some time?

I had to take it out, and now it is back in, the car seems to be behaving, well, not badly, but quirkily. The idle speed is constant (a/c off), but seems to vary depending on what the engine was doing immediately before. Also there were a couple of pops/bangs from the exhaust whilst I was letting the engine idle before turning it off, it hasn\'t done that before. Otherwise it seems to be as normal as it ever was (occasional pops when engine cold and moving the car around on the driveway, fine at other times).

Thanks in advance for any help!

Oh yes, my car is an import, with a cat-back exhaust if that makes any difference.

Anyone at all? This may be a stupid question, but that\'s no reason to ignore me ;)

Same here with me. Had the battery out once or twice and not had any problems afterwards. And yeh, mine pops when cold too :)
