Title: What gearbox oil?
Post by: Initial-D on August 10, 2005, 01:20:55 PM
Finally got a new gearbox but was wondering what is the best oil to use in there? I\'ve heard good things about Redline Shockproof but it\'s crazy money for 4 litres. A friend said that he uses Quaife (don\'t know the correct spelling) in his cossy box and it\'s great and only £17 for a box\'s worth, it\'s an automatic oil evidently.

I\'m gonna be using the car on track days and with a twin plate clutch with 450 plus bhp so I\'d like to get a good oil for the job - any recomendations (Opie oils)?

My customers are using Max Gear 75w90 in the gear box and a mix of 75w90 or 85w140 in the diff.
The sponsored drift car is using 75w90 in the box as well.
