That will be lots of £££ to repair mate, gutted for you.
What hit first, back or front?

You may be best off keeping the engine etc and looking out for a TII with a knackered engine, they go very cheap atm.

OH NO!!! you alright?? the damage isnt that bad, you could probably jig the back end out bit of filler etc, a new wing - i got a spare (not in the best nick but its straight!), anyway what you planning on doing then?

if you break it, i could do with the side skirts!

Sorry to see that,  were you drifiting or just track day ing it?

now watch all the vultures floating around looking for cheap bits,  thats the problem with Tii bits,  the people who want them are poor, thats why we have em....
You maybe best off buying a good shell if you can find one and do the work your self, as mentioned above.
What suspension do you have?,  put me down for first dibs on it?

if its a drift car batter it back into roughly the same shape and go out and compete again ... it\'ll only get bent again. (no disrespect to your driving BTW ... its just enevitable in any sort of competitive driving)

looks like it was a good one. anyhting can be repaired, its just how much you want to spend. if you decide to break it ill come up and buy a few bits

ouch - thats painful matey !

if you break it - let me know what toys are on the car and i could be interested

typically you have stuff i have just bought - top hose sender and the BOV , but is there anything else ( oil temp gauge :) )

failing that - knock it back into shape with a big hammer - its a drift car - they are suppose to look "used" :)

Nasty!! Hope your alright. (stiff neck?)

If i was you mate i\'d put it in a Corner somwhere untill you can lay your hands on a cheap Shell, If you go selling up it will cost you twice as much to build another car as you will make off it in bits?(Cheap skate T2 owners ;))

nooooooo.....so sorry to see that....trouble with the TII is its such a big unwieldy car to be throwing around. I agree with the holding out for a cheap shell....and then perhaps chucking evrything into that...

that said, if you do decide to break, ill defo have the lsd of you...

damn dude, how did that happen. i have that egi shell but it needs alot of work on rust underneath man you can have it once ive taken the parts off of it. its not the best shell in the world but it will do the trick i think. loads of welding.

Post by: FD3SNuttah on August 09, 2005, 11:42:47 PM
dude you can fix that damage! doesnt look tooo bad actually,  you can get the replacement rear quarter panel for it from the dealers, i will have athe part number somewhere as it happens!

putting a thread up about "breaking his drifty" then people are going to post with whatever they need from it arnt they ?

as it happens dont worry bout the side skirts! (might have seen some other ones i like!) but i tell you what mate, you can have those front wings i got spare if you want. PM me if you want pics of the front wings. they need a little work...

It don\'t look to bad but from my experiance you would still be best looking for a shell mate. The main reason being the lack of new 1/4 panels available through Mazda.

Looking at the Picture the back corner doesn\'t look bad but the thing that would worrie me is the crease over the Wheel i would go look inside for damage to the floor or inner panel? It looks like the impact has broke its back. but having said that pull your carpets etc up and have a good look also check the other side for 1/4 distorsion. I have learnt from the past that a picture of a damaged car can be made to look alot worse even if not done delibratly.

Does the tail gate gap still look about right?

I agree with Grizzly :)
When I mangked my first EGi, I kept it in the Garden for 6 months until I found another one, then swapped all the gear over, then broke up the egi and scraped the slightly dented bodyshell.

Leo/....dont part the car.....(know i will get flame now..haha) it will cost you even more to build the car like ur spec!!...just buy a T2 with a knackered...see them go for around 500-600 then just swap everything to that......
Title: might be breaking my drifty TII
Post by: FC3Sleo on August 13, 2005, 12:41:21 AM
problem is where do i look for a t2 with dead engine, haven\'t seen any, and i think it will be too much work swapping everything over???
Title: might be breaking my drifty TII
Post by: Grizzly on August 13, 2005, 12:59:00 AM
Well the thing is look at it this way, Buy a £600-800 running t2 then take the engine,Seats suspension off it and sell them on, now you are left with a Shell that stands you alot less (if you play your cards right).

Basicly it comes down to too things, A. Do you have some where out of the way to keep the damaged car while you get another shell/Save. B. Do you want the Agrovation? Basicly do you think it would be less work/Money stripping your car for bits and selling it starting with a new Slate then building another one at a later date?
Title: might be breaking my drifty TII
Post by: grinder on August 13, 2005, 01:41:37 PM
i would go with the parts swapping idea

but you need

a : lots of space
b : lots of time
Title: might be breaking my drifty TII
Post by: Grizzly on August 13, 2005, 02:41:23 PM
There is the other way of looking at it, Not too long ago FC3sLeo was thinking of Braking it anyway and figured the parts he had on the car where worth quite alot of money anyway. So if he did strip it there isn\'t alot that would have been damaged in the Crash?

Shell
Rear Suspension/Strut
Bumpers,lights and small stuff

So the easy option would be to sell up and move on which looking at the responce from the Title of the thread would make alot of people happy. But you may find your self out of pocket when your building a new car or left with parts that you struggle to sell?

If you are struggling for space why not strip all the good bits of the car then bin it, Buy another one in the near future and use them on that?
Title: might be breaking my drifty TII
Post by: Brett on August 14, 2005, 01:49:00 PM
I\'ve done the swapping thing, If I were you I\'d get yours stripped of the parts you need to put on the new car and then get rid of the rest one way or another.  Then spend the next few months trawling the small adds and calling up the Specialists to see if they have anything that a customer has abandoned/ cant afford to get rebuilt.

Using an EGI shell just means you\'ll need to swap more stuff, Running gear,Possably the fuel tank??

But Yes it could be done. If you go on The US site there are loads of write ups on the T2 swap, its mainly becouse the US Verts where NA only (all EGI\'s) and the import cars have the steering wheels on the wrong side (In the US, :)HE HE....)

Remember you buying good parts for it whilst in Japan this year, car has to be worth a bit if you do break but I would personally swap bits over to another FC.

Good luck.  :wave

Or to save the hassle, price up all the parts and sell the car to someone here as a job lot for less than the price of individual bits. Let them do the breaking and selling.

antnicuk, your help breaking it will be great mate, will have to arrange it once most the parts are reserved. its first come first serve unless someone offers to buy the lot within this week,

Please copy paste the list with name next to what you want to reserve.

when you get to the stripping down - can you check the turbo for me .. mine has a bit of play in it .. im hoping yours doesnt

can you pencil me in for that on the condition that there is no play in it

Cheers

Stu

( and i can offer you a £10 for the sandwich plate - based on no one buying the bundle )

i do have the front splitter, its got a couple of cracks on it tho, engine wise, it was checked by wgt a week b4 the crash and it\'s all good then, the crash caused no engine damage.

grinder, the turbo is the S5 one, what do you actually need? just the turbo itself or with the manifold and stuff??? sorry, haven\'t got any standard backboxes. they rotted away long time ago
Title: might be breaking my drifty TII
Post by: Jit on October 03, 2005, 08:25:18 AM
well as long as that front splitters in one single piece, i can always fill it and paint it myself....

how much you want for that?

having slept on it, ill prolly miss on the engine for now....mines seemingly ok and i might have an evil plan (piston?) for when it goes.....

errr i would assume just the turbo .. mine has some play - so was just gonna swap that out

would it make a difference if it was to include the manifold and stuff ??? :)

Has it ever had any welding done?

How much would you be looking for it as a striped shell?

I would also be intrested in the gearbox and Bonnet vent. Is all the syncro\'s in good order in the Box?(don\'t crunch going in gear?). How much would you want for these bits as well?

May be interested in the oil cooler, front calipers and the strutt brace (Looks bent,  I just need the tower ends). Didnt have a cage did you?

Also, do you have the extra steering lock spacer Thingys in the rack?

I am putting together a Autotest/Rallycar so I may be interested in the "Drifty" chassis bits.

Personally, I think fix it, I hit a tree backwards and got my RX2 straight, Just need porta power and an oxy torch, several boofhead mates, Pizza for the formentioned mates, and a lot of patience .

//WWW.alliancemotorsport.org under kaptainballistik pictures, on the last page for my attempt.

what comes with the clutch ??

is it the disc and cover thingy ?

how many miles are on it ?

it is ok for street driving or it it just for track/drag

any idea what BHP is can support at the fly

how come you are selling it with the fly wheel - is it a lightened one - or the stock flywheel ?

but im VERY interested :D

maybe we can come to a deal with the clutch and turbo :D - if im fitting a clutch on the drive , may aswell fit a turbo aswell eh :D

Grinder, Trex has arrange to collect the parts on sunday, if he decides he don\'t want the clutch, then it\'s yours.
