Title: Turbo set up options?
Post by: travellinbob on August 07, 2005, 11:35:41 AM
Ok guys so I understand what a draw through set up is and also a blow through but what would be the obvious dissadvantages or placing the throttle body before the turbo and the injectors after the turbo?
Been thinking about this too much I know. Perhaps should just stick with more mormal set up but as couldnt arrive at any conclucions myself thought I would ask :god
  cheers all, michael.

Yes like that. I figurered that if only the throttle body was in front of the turbo and the injectors were after then it would illiminate the need to have the turbo modified as per the norm with a draw through set up?
Basically you could fabricate a \'box\' that sat on top of a stock, say 12a, manifold with the injectors, say 4 of them on top feeding straight into the the manifold.
Water injection could be used but also as you are not sucking fuel through the turbo then theoretically you could also use an intercooler if you wanted.??
any ideas. Please feel free to constructively criticise.
 cheers, michael.

there is no point having draw through set up with fuel injectors,  draw through is only designed for carb\'s engine to eliminate problems around pressurising the float chamber and putting too much boost in the carb.  I dont thin it makes a great deal of diffence where you put the throttle boddy if the injectors are in the normal place.   I dont think you would get very good drivability with them in front of the turbo.  just means you can have a shorter in let track
