it runs ok, but the ABS unit is leaking and the breaks are almost not there. will keep you posted on what happens.

Sorry to hear that mate, I was in strife at the begining of the year and its not nice :(   Chin up, these things do tend to sort themselves out.  You may be best off saving up for a ****ter with a blown engine (ie Grinders car after RSIII) when your back on your feet :)

cant be that hard to get a new abs unit??? if your in debt then you arnt gonna make much on it with no brakes! have you rang around the rotary shops? what about putting something in the "wanted" section? possibly adapting a unit off another mazda i.e the 323 or 626 maybe they come with the same pump?

the FC unit is the only one that fits - i have checked the EPC

the part from mazda is over £1300

brett recons s/hand you are looking at 100 - 150

and it sounds like he hasnt got that sort of cash to throw into the car at the moment :(

Sounds like its the actual unit rather than the ABS computer, you should be able to get one from a breakers yard pretty cheap (less than £30 I would think)

its the metal unit which all the pipes run through, as far as ive been told they are a sealed unit and impsossible to fix unless you go crazy with modifying them. might have a fix on i tho so fingers crossed. fc3sleo helped me find an ABS removal kit i.e take the unit out and put pipes in its place.  im hoping now.

youll have to have a brake pipe flairing tool first. i have one on loan at the mo but like i said, come round and ill help you. i cant lend you the tool.

tintin on the forum had some pipe for sale. see if he had any left. its not a kit, you have to make it.

let me take a guess at this - do you just join the pipes together

would be good for someone to take really detailed pics - and a nice write up for every one else

its looking like me and brett are the only "snap happy" people when it comes to working on the car ???

take care
