Title: Power commander
Post by: Alex on August 04, 2005, 12:28:30 AM
I\'m sorry of this has been posted before but I can\'t find what I\'m looking for in a search.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the shape of the plugs into the ECU changed between the 92-95 FD\'s and 96-99 FD\'s.  Is this correct??

If so, does anyone have a piccy of the plugs for both types?  I\'ve got a \'96 FD and was pretty sure I\'d scoped out a suitable \'96 compatible Power commander etc. but then saw a piccy of a Knightsports ECU for a \'93 and the plug holes were the same shape and size as mine.

Now I\'m (over)thinking that either my car ain\'t a \'96, or the piccy of the \'93 ECU is wrong or....this, that and the other.  I would dearly like someone to just tell me straight how the world of ECU\'s should be, and I\'ll be happy  :D

Again, sorry for another post of Power Commanders but it\'s doing my head in

Cheers

AL.

The 92-95 connectors to the ECU are yellow and the 96-02 ones are white.
Hope this helps.

Hi Al,

Here you go, this is a picture of a 95-98 PFC ( the sockets you see will be clearly a totaly different shape if your car has a 92-95 ECU fitted)

Hope this helps

Clive....You\'re a star!  Cheers.

Andrew, thanks for the info as well, that\'s a good double check for me.  My conectors are white.

Now I\'m sure (I think) what\'s going on.

MRC to the rescue again, top class.
