Ditto - once I\'m in it\'s fine (6ft or so, and the driving position\'s near perfect), but it\'s kinda awkward to get out in tight spaces.

If you\'re really worried, you can get UK spec seat runners for jap imports which give another 2 notches of backwards room I think. The other thing people sometimes have problems with is the steering wheel being too large (this depends more on build than height I guess) but again that\'s not too hard to fix.

Just don\'t try sitting in the back :p

I find a good cure for a cold is to run the FD hard for 30 mins, park her up idling and stick ya head as close to the exhaust pipe as possible, that gets rid of it... true to say it burns ya face off too but you can\'t have it all ;)

so anyone got any ideas where you can get UK seat runners? Dealer perchance? or how easy to mod the jap uns?
Also do u all use smaller steering wheel then as after a test on Friday i found (with standard wheel) that even with seat right back the wheel was right on my knees & in order to use the clutch i had to spread my legs, essex girl stylee :o lol, around the wheel.
Made driving position bleeding horrible for me & i would need to change this to even consider the RX7 now (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/edoom/sad2.gif)
I feel even if smaller wheel & further back seat sorted ther knees knocking on wheel problem that it would feel much better with the steering whell ADJUSTED up a bit it just didnt seem right being so much below me (http://mysmilies.creativesell.net/contrib/ed/cry.gif)
Please help i wana rex but do i not like that (http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung/traurig/sad-smiley-019.gif)

the answer is in the tread you started, steering wheel adjust. You can buy from RX Motors, Jimmys or mazda. OR some on the steering wheel thread mentioned grinding rivets out of rail and weilding.

or i could get a supra ;) lol hmm maybe not :D
Will inquire how much the UK rails are on monday then presumably not guna need a shed load of cash.........
Suppose a more reclined position wood also put the steering wheel in a better position relative to me but i dont wana lie down i like it when my head rubs on the ceiling ;) lol

I have a Bride race seat that I had someone modify the runners on. The result is that I am sat lower and much further back. The seat and a Willands 4 point harness are for sale, let me know if you are interested.

cheers

anyone know how easy it would actually be just to reweld or wotever the jap runner a few inches or as far as possible further back? Presume it wouldn\'t be rocket science or owt but then as i always say i no sweet FA ;) lol

hey look ma my post count is getting bigger ;) lmao, er but back on track any idea how much space there is between the front & rear seat when right back on a Jap FD RX7 ie how many inches further back could you grind/reweld or wotever the runners?

You can modify the jap seat runners by removing a couple of welds to allow full rack travel.

Should be clear what needs removing once you take the runners out of the car.

You gain about two inches by doing this and the seat as good as touches the back seat.

You may find you want a steering boss to extend the steering wheel back as well, to keep your arms comfortable, as mentioned perviously.

Henning on FDUK has done this mod to his seat.

I\'m 6ft 2" and can just about drive ok, but heel/toe is a nightmare!

Regards

Max
