Title: Coolant leak
Post by: Jame5 on August 03, 2005, 06:45:00 PM
I\'ve only just bought my FD. Had it compression checked by a specialist and came back at late 7bar to 8bar on both rotors. Drove it 200miles back home. Got back here and decided to give it some boost in 3rd gear. Got to the next set of traffic lights to find steam coming from engine bay. Pulled over and managed to hear a leak from the front of the engine area, hissing out and dripping onto the engine. Any ideas?

Awesome! Another Cardiff FD. I\'ll be about this weekend if you want a hand? Could be leaking from a few favorite locations, one of them being a split AST. Do you know asp?

Yeah, I know asp. I met up with him a while ago just to have a proper look around an FD before I bought one. I know his friends pretty well too. He knows where I live, roughly. I Live over the road from cosmeston lakes. Think he said you live in Dinas? I\'d really appreciate some help looking at the problem. The car isn\'t registered yet so I\'ve got time to get stuff sorted in the next few weeks before it\'s on the road.

Thanks

James

Just round the corner then. Yeah my parents (and my RX-7) live in Dinas, but I\'m down in Port Talbot. Try to avoid driving her if you can since the coolant system won\'t be able to pressurise properly and she\'ll rapidly overheat. Send your mobee number to itsmillertime2002@yahoo.com and I\'ll give you a shout on the weekend.
