Seen an egi a couple of weeks ago stood outside an row of units.... looking neglected etc. asked a mechanic who works in one of the units about it and he said that the EGI has had a new clutch fitted by himself and the person who owns it hasnt showed up to pay for it and looks like hes not going to as he isnt answering the phone,
he says that soon if the guy doesnt come forward to pick it up hes going to weigh it in!!!! :xconfused
i nearly shouted at him, told him that he couldnt do that to an FC. as there arnt that many left on the road! he said only way its gonna be saved is if i pay him 100 notes. if not the council will probably take it before that!
he let slip the name of who ownss the car and i think a mate of mine knows him (he does know pretty much everyone).
i have to have a closer look at it in the morning, check out the exhaust from what i can see its a janspeed doesnt look stainless, its got some 15 inch rims which look ok, the interior is clean, but the body work isnt that good, and the sills seem ok too!
dont think i would put it on the road, i would strip it....
hummm if its that bad you might not make the money back !
buy at 100 its worth the gamble at the end of the day ... :)
got enough problems as it is at the minute, but might use it for spares you see. gotta wait to see how it pans out...
for a £100 its not bad
if you can get it for less then its even better
you need to work out what you can use and work out a cost of it
1 - back boxes - if they are in really good nick say £40
2 - sunroof panel - is it better than yours ?? - £10
3 - wheels - hummmm not much use to you as they are 15\'s - £40 ebay
4 - coil packs ( always useful to have ) - £10
5 - plug leads - mine cost me £68 - so say £10
that should puts you over £100 and you have only used 5 bits off the car :)
you may beable to sell some of the interior off cheap ...
dunno matey its up to you really - the problems are
1 - keeping it somewhere
2 - shipping stuff out
but you get to remove what you want to make yours neat and tidy and sell the rest - even if you sold any part at £5 - then you should make the cash back !!
i tell you what - i will pay £50 towards it and i want 1/3 of what you make in parts :)
Stu
( just thinking what i need and i dont think i need much !! LOL )
more parts that usually shift
1 - wing mirrors
2 - bits of engine ( pipes and the such like )
3 - interior trim
why dont you be sneaky - and put a thread in the forsale section that you are looking to break and EGI and see if anybody wants anything - then work out if its worth buying :) !!
Your best bet if its really rough would be to take the engine, exhaust and gearbox out of the car, take the Brake Calipers too. You can then sell the Engine etc, cannibalise the bits you need from the exhaust and keep the brake calipers to recondition and stick on your TII.
If you do get it I\'ll buy the rear passenger side light unit off you if its in mint condition.. and what is the parcel tray like ??
see.. you could sell stuff already :)
if its an EGI there is no parcel shelf - they dont come with them
that explains why mine doesnt have one then :rollin
I never knew that.. learn something new everyday :)
i wont comment that i have one lent up against the patio doors !! LOL
but yeah - EGI\'s never came with them ( or not in the UK )
but the TII ones will fit

If you change the rear speaker covers so that you have the clips on them for the lugs on the parcel shelf to go into :D
Is the one you have a nice straight black one Stu? If it is I will buy it off you for Sarah. I\'ll keep it and give it to her for her birthday in October :D
Now where can I hide it so that she won\'t find it :rollin
well trying to hid the fact on here wont help matey !! LOL
to be honest not sure of the condition - or even how i would post the thing !!
had a good butchers at it yesterday, the exhaust doesnt have much life left. The inderside is a bit ****ty, decided not to bother with it. hopefully it will end up in a local scrap yard, instead of the crusher!
