Title: Water Pump
Post by: babz_audio on August 01, 2005, 01:42:47 PM
After TOTB yesterday i was driving back and the temp got a little high, so i stopped to check the matter further, left the caroff and let it cool down, carried on journey to a service station and again it got a little higher.

after letting it cool down for a good 3 hours, as soon as i started it up, the temp needle would move up really quickly...

AA said that it has probably got something to do with something on back of water pump as he said it was working but some loose connection or something

Anybody help me out?

I take it you\'ve checked the coolant level and it\'s been purged of air?

didnt let the apexi get too high but the speed at which temp was going i just stopped and turned car off

add coolant light never came on and once the car had cooled down there was plenty of water in it

sounds daft but wait untill its stone cold and check the water level from the filler on the engine not the epansion bottle behind the drivers head light.

waited until it was stone cold, apexi was reading 22 and checked water level from the filler cap mentioned and there was plenty of water in it,

havent opened the expansion cap...at one point there was water being released form overflow pipe on top of expansion tank...

If it isn\'t electrical then you may have an air-lock in the system! remove the water pipe feeding the top of the throttle body (passenger side) and see if you can fill it anymore from the normal filling point and the at the pipe you\'ve removed. Have you not got another GReddy temp gauge aswell? if so what was that reading?

Hope you get it sorted,

Paul
