Hi,

I am in the process of replacing all the bushings on my car. I am taking the arms off and getting a mechanic to press the old ones out and press in the new ones. He will use his 20 ton hydraulic press.

Not sure on the part numbers though, maybe check out he Mazda parts catalogue and get the number from there. You can download it here: http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/

If you fancy doing it yourself here are a few interesting links:

http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=211372&highlight=bush%2A+part

Hope that helps!

BTW, I am changing the OEM bushes for Nylon ones, worked out pretty cheap, $350 from the US shipped for the pillowballs, and $400 shipped for the 18 bush set  made by Unobtainium Motorsport

ok sorted it... they were the anti roll bar link... from the A/R bar to the lowere arm...

46 quid each plus vat... thats from mazda dealers....

can these be fitted myself.... seems as though they are held on by bolts... and I assume that I wont need a 20 ton hrdraulic pressw to get them off?...

anyone confirm this...

thanks for the info above by the way...

Hi Fish,

I looked through the for sale section on rx7club.com. I was going to buy the from rx7store.com but they have a 2 month waiting list from the manufacturers!

There seem to be a lot of people who bought the bushes and didn\'t get round to fitting them so they come up quite often.

FD, thanks.

Lemster as for the press, you will need either a press or a proper set of bushing tools.

why... the tools?...

as far as I can see they are just held on eith tools they are not pressed in to a hole like the lower arm bushes it appears they are just held on with bolts and slip on to the outside end of the anti roll bar...

I was gonna zip tie the roll bar to the upper arm to keep the right level and then undo the bolts and slip the new ones on....

I could be totally wrong though....

hmmmmm

the tie rod ends were a really easy to replace on my 323, they held on by one bolt either end, heres a trick tho, your gonna need a blow torch and possibly an allen key, the allen key fits inside the bolt so it doesnt spin when you try to remove the nut. thats on my 323 anyway, im going to assume there is a similar thing on the RX or if not there might be a shim you can get a spanner on to stop the whole thing rotating.

your biggest difficulty might be that its rusted on, you will need a grinder/hacksaw in that case.

i would have a go myself before taking it to someone!

Think my arms are shot too, however when I looked into it the link at the roll-bar end is only held on with a nut.  It\'s very tight, but easily removed.  Not sure about the top bolt though.

You will be able to remove the anti roll bar drop links yourself but you WILL need a press or bushing tools for the A-arm bushes, they won\'t just fall out.

you will need to jack the A arm up when you take the links off, as the roll bar will spring upwards! it was a bit of a fiddle on the 323 the suspension is nearly the same thing here, make sure you support the car well mate, you\'ll need axel stands and a decent trolley jack. you can get these for not much at your local parts store.

good luck with it mate, u can save yourself a tidy amount doing it yourself!
