Title: Fog light / reverse light question
Post by: fullonloon on July 29, 2005, 10:41:23 AM
It\'s possible to convert the OS reversing light to a fog light.  The question is, does the cover have to be painted red or can it be left clear and simply change the bulb inside to red?

No problem mate - feel free to drop any questions to me about the procedure - I\'ll do my best to remember what exactly it was I did.

Literally just walked passed a new Honda Accord, and the rear light clusters have 2 clear lenses - one on the near side for the reversing light, and one on the offside for the fog light. The buld was red - not the lenses. So on the FD, you may get away with it.
I simply bought some clear red glass paint, and painted the inside of the lens, so no messy brushstrokes on the outside. Just passed the MOT, no problems. As long as no white light is showing, you\'re OK.

Righto.  That settles it I\'ll go with that.
