Title: Air Induction install
Post by: Sy. on July 22, 2005, 05:13:19 PM
Another newbie question ...

But i have bought HKS induction kit ...
i took the standard box off and it has 5 pipes from/to it .
2x main air to turbo\'s
1x air pump i think (goes into the main block)
2 x pipes next to the main turbo pipes

Can you advise which ones i plug in the side of the hard pipes for the induction . as 1 of the pipes next to the main top turbo pipe went into the box but out the other side and went no where .

what i have done is .. plug in the air pump to the top filter ....

If this makes no sense that is ok .. as i am useless at explaining ...
i will get some more pics to show you what i mean in the car .

Sy,

I can\'t see the pics you have posted but feel free to e-mail them to me. I don\'t think you need to connect the air pump pipe. Just block it off. Hope this helps.

I would plumb both the BOV and charge relief valve pipes into the ports on the intakes.

Regarding the air pump hose, I\'d get one of those small engine breather filters from your local motor factors - about 8 quid, if I remember correctly.

However, how you\'ve got it plumbed now won\'t do any damage to the car, but  you may get some wooshing noise!

Yeah get whooshing sound .
Cheers for the diagram :D
Dre i will send you the pics
i think i will take off the air pump pipe (put a breather on it) and put (in diagram above) pipe G into the side of the filter.... as i dont think i have pipe E in the diagram .

Sy

You should get rid of the air pump as you have no use for it seeing as you have a straight through de-cat exhaust. You will need to buy a pulley kit to do this but they are not expensive (£70-£80). It\'ll free up a bit of space under the engine bay and let more air get to the turbo\'s. Not difficult to do either.

Still haven\'t rec\'d your e-mail. Give us a shout if you need any help.

 :cheers
