Title: Water injection \'additives\'
Post by: ScuttleRX on July 21, 2005, 09:10:25 PM
Just been looking around on the net for places to buy methanol and stumbled across this (http://www.justengines.unseen.org/fuels.htm)

Completely forgot these fuels were mostly methanol (use to fly planes as a boy, wish I still did is great fun :) ), wonder how safe they would be to run as a WI mixture, bearing in mind the oil and nitro content.

Top one is 80% methanol and 20% castor oil, any negative effects to injecting castor oil in engine?

And what about nitro :D guessing that might be slightly risky, its only small quantity though so maybe not?

Might be worth looking at the ERL forums. http://www.waterinjection.info/phpBB2/

Plenty of people that know what to do on there.

Just found out most model shops that sell nitromethane fuels should sell just plain methanol with no nitro or oil if you ask \'em, may have to order them in, i\'ll give one a try tomorrow and let you know how it goes
