Hi I am looking foir advise before I go and alter my idle adjustment screw, or should I be also looking at altering anything else in conjunction witht he idle?
The car idled fine before I started the work I am doing.
I have done the following
Removed air pump
fitted gredy pulley\'s
fitted trust FMIC
Reposistioned battery into boot
Reposistioned air filter
changed plugs (same all round 9\'s as was taken out)
Changed plug leads
Changed oil
Changed oil filter
Changed coolant
I also found a cracked vac pipe which I have now replaced.
I knew idle would need adjusting I just wanted to check to see if I should alter the idle bfore I install the Apexi PFC and commander.
Thanks
ur idle shldnt have altered ..did u move the screw adjuster located just above the oil filter as this will affect ur idle..install the apexi and get it adjusted properly by one of the pos who have prob done this hundreds of times
are interesting, thanks for that, I just thought that after altering what I have the idle would have been out its only a little the cars goes to about 1300 but cant seem to get it any lower, maybe I have not run it for long enough.
I am also worried about a gasket leak on the elbow, I had it on and off a few times, also I replaced a cracked vac pipe which I though may have caused the idle problem, I thought the car may have been set up with the cracked pipe.
I did not adjust the screw on purpose but I have been messing alot in that area, fitting the leads and sandwich plate, how easy is the screw to accidently move?
any idea\'s welcomed.
Thanks
once u put the plate in there it is very tight but if u def didnt move it then ir wont be that..try a bit of wd40 in the elec conector around that are i think thats where the throttle postn sensar takes its signal from
hey guys im pretty new, i got a celica (ra23) with 13b and my mate thought he could get it to idle lower so he messed round with em and car was idling increadily low and would splutter after a minute.i let it cooled it down for ten mins and it wouldnt idle at all even when hot. now i tried driving it warm and the car wont drive at all, the car jolts back and forth like its stalling but the tacho says its spinning at close to 3000 rpm, its a carby driven rotor, im not looking for a rebuild but cause its just a tune up could my local mecha fix it or should i have it towed to be tuned. any advise would be cool
