wenbt for a drive the other day and car got very hot, seems to get very hot since i got my induction kit fitted. anyways i parked up and turned engine of then when i walked round the front of the car lots of coolant was on the floor, so i thought straight away i must hav a hole in radiator or a hose. got down and looked through at the radiator and it did look as if the coolant was coming from the radiator. left the engine to cool down for a while then went to add some more coolant but when i tryed to add some it was already full :-s
i drove back home very carefully and put the car in garage, next day checked coolant again and was still full and didnt look like there was any coolant on floor. checked the expansion tank which was very low.
anybody help?? seems very strange there was alot of coolant on the floor when i first stopped but system was still full when i checked when it cooled down. why would the expansion tank be really low but the system full?? can someone please help
I know this is going to sound really stupid of me to even mention this to you, sure it was coolent and not the usuall condensation from the AC makes a puddle in this weather.
Or another i have read here is that the expansion tank is prone to cracking also ???
i think it was way 2 much for condensation it was alot of coolant, and it was bluey colour so it was def coolant, was in the middle at the front of the engine on the right side of the radiator.
Well if you need an extra pair of eyes m8 i come on down and look around for you also, just give us a shout..
Simon..
ok sure will mate, i might try givin it a little drive round and see wot happens, might ring up ross at fragon aswell, get some expert advice.
was thinkin of maybe upgradin the cooling system anyway, getttin a koyo rad, samco hoses and a new ast.
anyone else got any ideas????
I had a similar problem a while ago. Never did find the fault with it and the coolant is still brimming today! I did take a mate out with me to keep getting out to check the car was not leaking again but thankfully nothing. I even had a full checkover the week before at WGT and they didnt find anything wrong then, (sorry I cant be of any help)
just in case you find any of this usefull this was the thread :

Wow, sounds a little random this one. If you can get one, it would be good to pressurise the coolant system to around 0.8-0.9 bar and seeing what happens, help spot a leak or something. Not sure how easy it is to do, but I think you can get it done at most garages, think they put a pump over the radiator cap and pressurise from there. Would definately take the undertray off when you\'re doing this to help spot anything. Not sure what you can do from there if they don\'t find anything, other than checking the overflow bottle for leaks...

ok thanks mate, have read through that thread and sounds very similar to my problem, ive just ordered koyo rad, ast and samco hoses, so hopefully should solve the problem and improve cooling.
cheers spotlamp, dont think i would try that my self, will prob just not drive car much until i get new parts then get them fitted and see if that solves it
Sounds a bit bizzare, but I think they mix in another liquid with your coolant so it shows up under another light (maybe UV) when they do the pressure test, its a bit CSI
