Title: Sparkplug strangeness
Post by: paultakata on July 17, 2005, 10:12:29 AM
I just changed the plugs on my FD for the first time yesterday ("just" meaning 3 hours of mucking about under the bonnet of course) and was a bit surprised at what was in there. The leading plugs were BUR7EQP, which seems correct, but the trailing plugs were BUR7EQ    not even the platinum ones!

Does anyone have any idea why someone would do this to a stock engine? The car only has a catback exhaust, so I wouldn\'t have thought changing from the recommended 7\'s and 9\'s would be necessary?

Incidentally, I have replaced the plugs with 7P\'s in leading and 9P\'s in trailing. I got them from http://www.sparkplugs.com/ for about £32 including shipping, and the shipping was about £15 of that!

I dont under stand how it took 3 hours :-)

Scott

The platinum ones just seem to last a bit longer. But you should have 7\'s and 9\'s in a stock car. or just stick 9\'s in
