Title: shock absorbers
Post by: Juz on July 15, 2005, 03:51:06 PM
one of my front shocks is leaking a bit so i need to get them replaced. just looking at doing the front 2, but my local garage has phoned around and exhausted all his contacts, and not been able to find anybody selling them. i\'ve called mazda and spoken to parts dept, and they have them but they\'re £165 each :\\ i mean there are uprated ones for less! so, instead of spending a fortune on stock parts, what other shocks would you recommend (for preferably about, or under £100 each?)

i did a bit of searching but there doesn\'t seem to have been much discussion on swapping shocks only, as most people tend to go for the full kits. however, i can\'t afford £1000 on suspension at the mo, and rarely/if ever use it on the track so don\'t need that sort of setup. the only info i found was http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8972&postcount=5 but it might be out of date now, i will get on the phone to rotechniks soon and check if they still have those, but also want to consider alternatives - so what would you guys recommend? looking for a nice smooth ride, not too harsh but don\'t want to lose handing either. thanks...

We have a lot of customers on the Koni\'s - very good units esp for the money. They are very compliant on the road unlike a lot of harder sprung coilover setups. They are about 100/corner.
