Title: Power FC vs kickplate
Post by: ScuttleRX on July 14, 2005, 02:41:45 PM
Can anyone actually get there kickplate to fit back in properly when the power fc is fitted, i\'ve trimmed bits of mine off but I still cant get it to fit like it originally did, wasting my time?

Like a glove.

Is your PFC fitted near enough where the original ecu was?

Assume so, I didnt put it in myself so not sure...I can get it near enough in place, and it stays there, just one of those little niggles. Thought the power fc might be wider than original or something but I guess not

from memory its not any bigger, might be worth taking the panel off and seeing if you can get it to fit any better, if you cant get a photo, and im sure someone will be able to tell you, if i remember right on mine its just held on with velcro pads in the original stock position and the panel fits fine...maybe they have mounted the ecu in a slightly different place...?

no prob with mine although i hav\'nt got brackets on the apex (standard ecu has brackets) managed to fit it and put some self adhesive foam strip on the inside of the cover to give some kind of protection.

Hi Andy,

Have you left the original stock bracket that bolts to the stock ECU, if so take this off the body, then the Apexi will then sit nicely on the sill ledge and allow the trim cover to fit back properly into its original position with all the correct clips fitting how they should

Hope this helps.

Heres a pic chaps, ecu is mounted onto a black box same sort of thickness with a few wires going in the side and on the top

no ive got the original ecu in the loft, this box still has things wired up to it.

Only thing I can think of is possibly something to do with alarm, but I cant imagine the alarm installer putting it there??

I\'ll have a closer look in a little while see if I can see any names or numbers on it, or see where some of the wires are going to
