Title: injecters
Post by: McCARTHY on July 11, 2005, 01:54:27 AM
This may sound really stupid but how many injecters does an FD have????? I have just had my engine back in bits and can only find the location of 2 injecters in a fuel rail just under the plenum........ Are there any more and where should they be located?

There are 4 injectors.

2 - primary 550c

2 - secondary 850c

4 altogether, 2 550cc primaries, and 2 850cc secondarys. Primaries are kind of located beneath secondaries I think, check //www.kgparts.com, lots of aftermarket rail kit pictures which might give you a better idea, think there is some standard pics too

I think you may have to remove the turbos to get to one of the rails....not sure though

when i say i got my engine back in bits i ment in bits in boxes, its all outer there!!!! I have a feeling a pair of injecters, the rail and my HKS twin power where not given back to me.......... tho i have it now i had to make another trip back down after i collected my just to get my flywheel because that wasn\'t given back to me..... That only came to my attention when i realised that i was told my car had a twin plate clutch, when i bought it, and the one i was holding was just a ingle plate paddle clutch !!!!

Ahh see what your saying chap, in that case yes looks like your missing 2 injectors :) IIRC primaries are top feed and secondaries side feed so should be able to tell which ones you have (if theres a visible difference..only ever seen a set of secondaries that are sitting in my shed :) )

lots of mis-information on this thread.
All four standard injectors are "side feed", the primaries are bolted directly on top of the middle side housing on the engine itself unlike the secondaries which connect into the lower intake manifold, they are side by side, they are probably still on your side housing.(you do not have to remove your turbos, just the upper intake manifold if the engine was still in your car)

First of all, who did you give your engine to? They sound like cowboys.

Secondly, you can get yourself a Factory manual at //www.iluvmyrx7.com if you haven\'t already done so.
