Title: Getting there...
Post by: ScuttleRX on July 10, 2005, 10:49:12 PM
right the water injection kit is almost installed, most of the under bonnet stuff is done now, just the wiring to the relay and the igniton to do.

Also need to get hold of some 1/8" (i think) pipe and a t-piece to run a tap off one of the boost source\'s.

*edit anyone know what type of shop will sell this sort of stuff? had no luck in the diy type places, also I need to know easiest place to get an igniton live off*

Pump and tank mounted in rear seat recess, just need to hook pipe up to tank, water filter is in place....

then begins the mdf mission to cover it all up :), might explore some more lightweight options first though

and heres the reason why its all going slowly, 2 projects on the go, if I spend too much time on the car the doris cracks the whip :)

Couple of weekends ago was just a big mound of dirt so its coming on nicely, gotta lay the patio slabs next week and build some steps at the front

yeah the garden has looked either like a mud-park or a building site since we moved in a couple of months ago, be nice to have it all finished then time for a few bbqs :).
We were planning all slabs to start with, then we added it all up and the price got pretty scary so we decided half slab/half grass :D bricks were free too so that was a plus, helps when the girlfriends uncle is the builder :)

Talking of women mowing the lawn, i saw a picture a while back (think it was on here) of one hoovering it :D

Nooooooo too hot  :yes

Plus was out in Notts last night on stag night and drank too much, got in @ 5am and got outta bed at 3pm, since then been sitting / lying on couch falling asleep all day as too hot to go out.  :o

Washed all 3 cars at 8pm though, and a local lad who has just bought his first rx7 3rd gen popped around so went through a few things with him.  :3gears-lh

Now dog walk and then sleep time again  :D

Have a few family members who between \'em can do lots of things like bricklaying, electrics, etc so makes jobs like these a lot easier :) I mostly end up doing the grunt work and making the tea :D

Was lovely again today wasnt it, made a nice change after a week of rain

While the car is in pieces, and as I need to get behind the dash (gotta try and find that igniton live), do I take on another job and remove the dash for painting.

Seems the sensible thing to do now ive wrote it :)

Im there! water wise anyway, the garden still needs some work :D just have a load of wiring and connections to neaten up (done a quick test run before I spent much time on this, just in case!) and it will be job done, oh and tighten up the water filter, have a little drip on it.

By far the most annoying thing so far has been taking dash and centre console out (especially as it turns out i didnt need to! not to the extent i did anyway), what a fiddly pain in the neck job, when you look at what you actually need to do it doesnt look much I just found it really awkward! Had plans to paint it but will not bother now.

Anyways hopefully will get it all back together tomorrow and i\'ll shall give it a test run on the road :) will post up results, im quite interested to see how a set-up with standard intercooler and WI will fair up against a FMIC job, air temp wise. May even get a pipe fabricated to bypass the intercooler and see if there any gain in responsiveness and what the effect on the air temp is. Can get a reading of inlet temps on pfc so if it starts to skyrocket I shall have some warning and time to swap back, although to be honest dont reckon I will need to.
