Hi guys, need your help please.
I\'ve searched and I think I have a similar problem to this..
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16280
ie no or very low boost on the second turbo.
My problem is that boost is fine on the first (8-9 psi), it then drps to abot 5 @ approx 4300rpm. Just when I\'m expecting transition to hyper speed, the boost drops to abot 3psi, and stays there.
There has been talk about the wastegate opening taking boost away from the turbo\'s. What I want to know is what could cause this and how can I fix it?
Is there any way I can temporarily disable the wastegate to verify?
It seem\'d fine when I collected it from pip\'s after he replaced the turbo\'s.
(btw no mods, just a powerflow exhaust and wgt hi flo cat)
Recently I have noticed a hissy/screech under heavy throttle, but if I had a leak, why am I getting good boost on the primary?
Thanks in advance.
Bugger!
How did that happen?
Mods can you delete the duplicate thread please - apologies
There aren\'t too many things that cause low boost on the 1st turbo. Most likely cause (?) is boost leak somewhere. Triple check all the big fat air hoses. The rubber coupler coming directly up from the turbos has a proven track record for splitting on older cars. It\'s probably not much more than an hours job to properly inspect all the couplings. You can easily replace them too with some tougher silicone pipe for between £10 and £20 per coupler.
You\'ll get some boost as it sounds like the leak isn\'t so big as to dump all the pressure, just some of it. I\'ve had pipes split and make about 0.3bar.

Thanks,
I\'ve replaced some of the knackered jubilee clips that\'s why I\'m getting proper boost now on the first turbo.
Pip replaced the coupler just above the y joint.
Think I\'ll replace all the clips, inspecting the pipework as I go.
Anyone know whee i can get some of these stronger "T" bolt clips? The only place I can find them is on ebay in the states.
Thanks
