Title: FD single turbo Insurance quote ???
Post by: turbomaz on July 08, 2005, 04:58:02 PM
Just phoned A-Flux for a quote and was supprised how high the insurance would be for a 92 type R import full kit, alloys, apexi ecu, induction kit, intercooler plus the Single turbo conversion all garaged limited miles country house etc came in at £1400
Im 36 btw and all clean no fines etc..

Anyone else have the same sort of set up on your fd and can tell me if this is high or a good quote ?

Thankyou..

What kind of bhp have you quoted at the wheels ?? Just renewed with houghton on stock twins with similar mods declared making 300 bhp ATW on classic insurance (2nd car) for 680ish per annum. Im only 27 ! I asked if the bhp was the same with a single (for reliabilty) would the quote be the same. He said it would depend on the bhp !

Hope that helps !

Yeah seems BHP is the big factor here lowest its pushing is 350bhp and thats what it is quoted for, looks like i underestimated (sp) the insurance, and the wife now insists she wants to drive it too AAAARRRRGGGHHH.

Anyone else with a single turbo setup paying what im quoted for ???

Give Heritage classic a try part of Norton insurance group. Paying a lot less than those quotes for a lot more power and mods everything declared. Admitedly in a Cosmo not a seven.
