Post by: zzrpilot on July 03, 2005, 06:15:52 PM
I have a 89 fc non turbo
the car will start but if the revs go over 1.5k it cuts out and
will only start again if you turn off the ignition switch completely
if you do that it will start again it will tickover fine but always cuts out if the revs rise   anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is, suggestions very much apreciated

Is the idle smooth?  It should idle at 750rpm or there abouts.
Have you checked for air leaks between the AFM (airbox and airflow meter) and the bottom of the upper inlet manifold?
Is the AFM properly sealed and plugged in ok?
Is the fuel filter clean?

Have a check of those and see how you get on :)
