Title: Single conversion without taking engine out?
Post by: JP825 on July 03, 2005, 11:13:59 AM
Is it true that you dont need to take the engine out to do a single coversion?

I see a lot of people covert to single when they have a rebuild so I jus thought is cheaper that way to do it at the same time?

It can be done in the car but would be very awkward and would take alot longer IMO.Easier and quicker to remove engine, also that way you can inspect everything closely on engine stand,fit/remove parts correctly. Not just a case of turbo side either, you would have fuelling to sort, vac chest to sort, etc, etc.

There is no need to remove the engine to fit a single turbo kit, yes it is a bit fiddly but take it as a challenge ;)
